About

Rev. Bruce W. Henderson, Jr., affectionately known as Pastor Bruce Jr., is a passionate preacher, visionary leader, and devoted servant of the Gospel whose ministry is marked by spiritual authenticity, biblical integrity, and a shepherd’s heart for God’s people. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, he answered the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ at an early age and delivered his initial sermon, “When the Atmosphere Is Set,” on February 21, 2010—marking the beginning of a dynamic and impactful preaching ministry.

For over 15 years, Rev. Henderson faithfully served as an associate minister, gaining a wealth of experience across multiple areas of church ministry. His service includes roles as a Youth Pastor, Minister of Music, Sunday School teacher, and ministry leader, where he developed a well-rounded approach to preaching, teaching, and shepherding God’s people. These formative years helped shape his pastoral voice, leadership style, and deep commitment to holistic ministry.

His preaching is characterized by a strong theological foundation, a sensitivity to the movement of the Holy Spirit, and a commitment to proclaiming God’s Word in a way that is both transformative and relevant to contemporary life.

In March 2025, Rev. Henderson was called to serve as Senior Pastor of New Home Missionary Baptist Church in Rockford, Alabama. Since accepting this divine assignment, he has led the congregation into a season of spiritual renewal, organizational growth, and expanded community impact. Under his leadership, the church has experienced significant progress, including strengthened ministries, increased financial stability, and the acquisition of key resources to further the mission of the church—all while maintaining a standard of faithful and disciplined stewardship.

Rev. Henderson’s influence extends beyond the local church through his leadership and involvement in Baptist and ministerial fellowships. He currently serves as President of the Morning Star District Association Minister’s Conference, where he provides leadership, guidance, and development for ministers across the district. He is also a proud member of the Birmingham Metropolitan Ministers’ Conference, further expanding his collaborative ministry efforts among pastors and leaders throughout the region.

Committed to lifelong learning and theological growth, Rev. Henderson is pursuing the Doctor of Worship Studies at Liberty University, where he continues to deepen his understanding of worship, ministry leadership, and the theological foundations that shape effective and authentic church ministry.

His pastoral vision is centered on building a holistic ministry that emphasizes spiritual growth, family empowerment, and community engagement. He is dedicated to equipping believers through sound doctrine, cultivating meaningful worship experiences, and developing leaders who will carry the Gospel forward with excellence and conviction.

At the heart of his ministry is a clear and compelling mission: to ensure that every person he encounters experiences the love, hope, and transformative power of Jesus Christ.
